2. How StoreSafe Handles Backup Data
StoreSafe uses your connected Google Drive account for completed backup files:
- Completed Files: Completed backup files are uploaded to your connected Google Drive account.
- Transient Processing: Workers process Shopify data transiently to create, restore, download, or export backups. Larger jobs may use temporary files that are cleaned up afterward.
- No Separate Backup Copy: StoreSafe does not retain a separate vendor-hosted backup-file copy after a completed upload.
- Operational Metadata: We retain service records such as backup status, timing, and configuration information to operate, support, secure, and improve the Service.

3.1 Account Information
When you install StoreSafe, we collect:
- Your Shopify store name and domain
- Your email address (for account communication)
- Billing information (processed securely by Shopify's billing system)
3.2 Google Drive Authorization
To enable backups to your Google Drive, we request limited OAuth scopes:
- drive.file: Permission to create and manage files that StoreSafe creates, including backup files
- The requested Drive scope is limited to files created by StoreSafe
- The requested scopes do not include Gmail, Calendar, or other Google services
3.3 Usage Data
We retain operational metadata to operate and improve the Service:
- Backup frequency and success rates
- Feature usage patterns
- Service and error logs, handled according to this Policy
